MTG, for example, has names that mostly sound cool. DM card names, on the hand, defy comprehension. Onslaughter Triceps is perhaps the best example. It is clearly some reptilian looking beast with very large-looking QUADRICEPS and rather non-existent triceps as well as biceps. Wait I think I just figured it out. According to dictionary.com, triceps literally means three-headed. Oh, so that's where the other flames are coming from. Well it still doesn't explain "Onslaughter", which is two good words, but not a word when they are combined. Oh wait I just figured this one out too. It is something our president said, something about the "onslaughter of American casualties in Iraq being unacceptable..." Just kidding; I made it up. But did you know that "misunderestimate" made it into the dictionaries because Bush said it?

But here's the thing. Choosing good names, while difficult, is obviously possible for Wizards. We would have to assume that with DM card names, they know precisely what they are doing. I suspect, however, that we'll have to read one of those "novels based on the game" to find out. I can't wait until it comes out!!!
