Greetings Eudemonia crew! This is Gabe the organizer of the Berkeley Board Gamers who have been coming to Eudemonia every Thursday night since August 2006. We've been having a great time and want to thank you for being such a great store and a great place to play.
Back when we started coming Robert was the events coordinator and I mostly talked to him about the happenings on Thursday nights. It wasn't long after that we'd started playing at Eudemonia that we formed up an official public group called the Berkeley Board Gamers. We have a Meetup.com site dedicated to our game activities at www.berkeleyboardgamers.com. We are pretty serious about board games. We are organized and want to grow and get more people involved in board gaming. So that's why we are open to the public.
The purpose of the Berkeley Board Gamers is to get together in Berkeley and play board games. Simple, right? We play all over the East Bay, but Berkeley and specifically Eudemonia was where we managed to meet most often. In fact, we loved playing at Eudemonia so much that we asked Robert if we could make Eudemonia the official home of the Berkeley Board Gamers. He said yes, and so we've been coming ever since.
I know Robert left, so it was important that I get to meet some of the other staff. Since then I've gotten to meet the rest of you including Tim, Dean, Will, Alex, Judy, Franz(?), Ray, and others. Just want you all to know that we are thrilled to get to play at Eudemonia and want to continue to do so on into the future. Please let us know if there is anything we can help the store do to make Board Game Night even better!
