Ed, however, just swings for 2 on his next turn, and David draws some extra cards and plays Pithing Needle to shut down any future Auriok Salvagers shenanigans.
Eduardo attacks, switches in a ninja, and draws a card. Web sacs his land, gets Trickbound, and waits for his own turn to play his Brainstorm. He has a Duress of his own, and takes out Ryan's Force of Will. On Ryan's turn he gets out a Dimir Cutpurse, and Morgan plays Merchant Scroll for Ancestral Recall. Another Duress takes out Ryan's Stifle, and the Cutpurse gets a hit in. Morgan short-circuits an Empty the Warrens for 4 men, and Ryan uses some neat tricks involving Brainstorm to Darkblast 3 of them. A second Cutpurse joins his team.

A sacland gets stifled, buying Ryan the time to find a second mox, but he's stuck without black mana. Morgan looks like he's getting ready to make a play, and trots out Gifts Ungiven on Ryan's end step netting Merchant Scroll and Brainstorm, and dumping Mox Sapphire and Demonic Tutor. Web keeps playing lands, and Eric gets a second Null Rod to take himself down to 15. An attack brings Web to 12 and Eric plays the second Null Rod as well as a second Black Knight. Web, constraining himself to basic lands, thinks hard about this turn, eventually settling on Merchant Scroll for Mystical Tutor. Game 3: Eric leads with sac land, Mox Sapphire, Time Walk, Duress. Looking at a hand of a couple lands and a bunch of fast mana, he takes out a Dark Ritual, and follows it up with land and Null Rod. Web plays a sac land, and Eric gets out a Dark Confidant. Web sacs his sac land and plays Fire to kill the creature and deal 1 to Eric. A Wasteland from Eric takes out Web's Underground Sea, and then a Hymn to Tourach makes him discard a land and Sol Ring. Neither player has much, so Web sits without doing anything and Eric gets out a second Null Rod and then sits without doing anything.
Eventually Web gets a Brainstorm, and Eric responds by casting Extirpate on Polluted Delta (taking 2 out of Web's library). Both players say “go” for 5 turns until Eric plays Phyrexian Negator. Web says “go” one more time, and Eric plays Duress to take out his Chain of Vapor. As it turns out, Web has been unable to play anything because his hand is full of black cards, and Eric's early Wasteland took out his only black mana. Phyrexian Negator goes the distance. Eric 2, David 1
Round 5: Victor Andersen (some combo deck with Grim Tutor and Dark Confidant) v. Michael Klemic (some combo deck with Gifts Ungiven)[/b] This round, we draw our feature match from the very bottom table, joining two usually fair players fallen on hard times whose only match points come from byes – think of it as the feature match of shame.
Game 1: Both players lead with Flooded Strand. Victor plays two moxes and a second land on his second turn, followed by Dark Confidant and Time Walk. Michael responds with Ancestral Recall, and Victor gets in for 2 on my computer, crashing it.
When I finish dealing with the crash, the game state looked like this:
Anyways, Michael Klemic played a fairly big Empty the Warrens (14 goblins) and a Time Walk to win the game. Victor 0, Michael 1
Game 2: Victor leads with a land, and Michael leads with an Ancestral Recall, mox, Mana Vault. Victor has a second land, two moxes, Dark Ritual, Black Lotus, Tendrils of Agony for 10, Yawgmoth's Will, Black Lotus, Tendrils of Agony for 16. Victor 1, Michael 1

Michael gets 2 artifacts online and plays Gifts Ungiven for Ancestral Recall, Gifts, Necropotence, and Yawgmoth's Bargain. He gets Necro and Gifts, and plays the 'potence off of a Lotus. He draws a couple cards, and it's Victor's turn. He gets out a Dark Confidant and passes back.
Michael plays Duress to set up what may be his fundamental turn, and sees a hand full of nothing. He plays another Gifts Ungiven for Dark Ritual, Tendrils, Mox Sapphire, Mox Pearl, and gets the black cards. Victor remarks that he must have Yawgmoth's Will in hand, and sure enough he does. Victor 1, Michael 2
Round 6: Jeff Huang (Fish) v. Albert Ye (Ritual Gifts) Game 1: Jeff wins the die roll, and leads with a land. Albert has a land of his own, and Jeff plays a second land. Albert seems to be missing a second land, which brightens Jeff's day just a little, and then Jeff plays a Meddling Mage. It resolves, and puts the kibosh on any future Yawgmoth's Wills. Albert gets a second mana source in Mox Ruby, and Jeff remains overjoyed at his lack of lands. A Kataki joins the mage of meddlesomeness and then Albert's main-phase Brainstorm gets countered by Daze. Jeff's attack takes Albert down to 13, and then a Jotun Grunt shows up.
Albert manages a Vampiric Tutor off of Lotus Petal, and then plays Ancestral Recall, which runs into another Daze. He pushes it through via Force of Will, however, and draws 3. He does find a second land this turn, though he has nothing to play yet.
Jeff's attack takes Albert to 2, and he goes to 1 off of his sac land. When he sees his draw, Albert packs it up for game 2. Jeff 1, Albert 0
Game 2: Albert leads with basic Swamp, go. Jeff has land, go, and Albert Vampiric Tutors. Jeff plays Wasteland and Kataki, and passes, and Jeff plays an end-of-turn Ancestral Recall. A sol ring and a Cabal Ritual and another Cabal Ritual get out a Yawgmoth's Bargain, which runs into Daze.

The two of them play land go for three turns after that, with Austin attacking once with his newfound Mishra's Factory. David's turn passes uneventfully, and Eric untaps, takes 2 damage for another Sinkhole, attacks, plays another Hymn, and David responds with ritual into Gifts Ungiven. The Gifts sends Black Lotus and Lotus Petal to the 'yard and Tendrils of Agony and Dark Ritual to the hand. David then discards Duress and Tendrils to the Hymn, but his remaining Dark Ritual does not let him turn the game around. David 0, Eric 1
Game 2: Eric decides that it's just not fair when he starts with a full hand and goes for only 6 cards this game. David, however, believes in starting with as many cards as possible, and leads with Ancestral Recall. Eric's turn 1 Black Lotus turns into Phyrexian Negator, and he also has a land, which doesn't turn into anything. David keeps going with Demonic Tutor, Black Lotus, Flametongue Kavu destoying Eric's board. Eric has a land, and David goes on the offensive. After a Brainstorm and an attack, he passes back. We deck checked him in like round 2 and were trying to figure out why he was playing Psionic Blast. Then we saw the actual card and understood why.
