I think we should do something cool at the store for Halloween. Unfortunately, I don't know how to plan parties. Give me some ideas! Costume parties, savage beatings, tournaments, computer game events, raffles, free food, whatever you want to see, post your suggestions here. You can ask for free stuff but I can't promise we'll deliver. Suggestions welcome for either the 30th or the 31st of October.

P.S. We're at least going to give away a free computer hour to everyone who comes dressed in a costume on the 30th or the 31st (and free account signup for anyone who doesn't already have one).

One large Eudemonia Halloween party might be a good idea, though whatever kind of party would work (and that people would want, and is legal) is beyond me. Free food/drinks/snacks would work, maybe or maybe not enforcing costumes as well.
Raffle tickets for people in costume?
Clear some empty room among the table space and have music going? (at least later in the evening... perhaps keep open later on Sunday)

I think you should keep the store up all night for some real action. Have some casual tourneys with some fun prizes. Food/drinks/snacks are a big plus too.

Clear out the back room except for the one table. Put food back there, and another source of music other than the main speaker system if possible. Pick a theme if you plan on decorating. You could have it relate to a game you might want to promote, like that new pirate ship one, or you could just have a general theme like post-apocalyptic or 'the future' since the store seems so computer/technology centered. Hold a costume contest with a big prize, and a small prize for everyone that enters (like your free computer hour idea.) Try planning tournaments or mini-games for people that want to play them.
Another thing you have to figure out is what is the goal of the party. To promote the store? To give people something to do? To allow people to meet others and network? Answering questions like that allows you to better tailor the event. If you are promoting the store, demos might help. If you are just giving people something to do, then having a lot of open gaming (board, cards, computer) would be fun. However, you would have to give it all a twist to bring more people in. If you are just giving people a chance to network, then games and activities that get people mingling are good, like picking name-tags out of a hat and finding the person that matches it sort of thing.
In terms of a big event idea, maybe some sort of scavenger hunt. Give clues or hide items nearby and have people search for them in teams. Winning team gets a prize. You could also do some sort of trivia type game, either having the trivia focused toward games you sell in the store, halloween only, or just general.
You could do simple or silly games, like putting pieces of paper with numbers on them inside balloons and handing the balloons out to guests. When the time comes, everyone pops their balloon and the balloon with a certain mark or number wins a prize. Put a riddle on something, like fake tombstones, and first person to solve it wins a prize. Just general stuff like that.
There are a lot of artist types in the area and it might make a nice window display. Hold a pumpkin carving contest. Have entries brought in by the 24th. Put the pumpkins in the window with other display stuff, and either have judging start then or allow people to vote for their favorite.
As for food, food coloring helps make everything more festive.
