Eudemonia is holding a series of nine Type 1 Constructed tournaments with each having a Power Nine card as the top prize. The schedule is:
Sunday, March 6, 2005 - Mox Pearl Sunday, March 27, 2005 - Mox Emerald Sunday, April 17, 2005 - Mox Ruby Sunday, May 8, 2005 - Mox Jet Sunday, May 29, 2005 - Time Walk Sunday, June 19, 2005 - Mox Sapphire Sunday, July 10, 2005 - Ancestral Recall Saturday, July 30, 2005 - Timetwister Sunday, July 31, 2005 - Black Lotus
[Format] Each tournament will be run as a series of swiss rounds, concluding with a cut to top four. Besides for allowing proxies, all DCI rules for Type 1 Constructed tournaments apply. Blank decksheets will be provided and decklists are required for each event.
[Time] For each tournament, registration begins at 11 AM and play begins at noon.
[Location] Tournaments will be held at the Eudemonia store: 2154 University Ave, Berkeley, CA. Downtown Berkeley BART is two blocks away.
[Entry Fee] The entry fee is $20 for each tournament except the last. The entry fee is $30 for the final Black Lotus tournament, except for those that win free entry from placing in previous tournaments.
[Prizes] The top four players in each event will receive prizes as well as a free entry to the final Black Lotus event with one bye. A player cannot have more than one free entry; if a player reaches the top four more than once, the slot will pass down to the next player who doesn't have one. Prizes for the top four aside from the guaranteed top prize will depend on tournament attendance. Check this website for more details as time goes on.
[Proxying] The tournament format will be Type 1 with up to 10 proxies allowed. Any deck containing proxies must be sleeved with opaque plastic sleeves. Proxies must easily be recognizable as the card they represent from the face, and must be made such that they are not easily recognizable from the back or when shuffling the deck. Contact the store if you have further questions about the proxy policy.
[Cancellation] With the exception of the final Black Lotus tournament, if fewer than eight players register for a tournament, it may be cancelled. ________________________________
Use this thread for general discussion of the events. Once underway, we'll be adding two new forums, one for decklists from the tournaments and one for tournament reports. More details will be made available at http://www.eudemonia.net/p9
Mark your calendars, you don't want to miss out on the action!

Unfortunately, the Eudemonia P9 series tournaments cannot be sanctioned because we allow the use of proxies. However, the tournaments still follow all other DCI rules and guidelines for sanctioned Magic tournaments, and the events are run by a level 2 judge.
